The Governor's House

We stayed in a bed and breakfast called the Governor's House. It was built circa 1868 and was owned by Charles A. Culberson, Texas Governor from 1895-1899. The house has been owned and operated by Bill and Lawanda Golden for the past 10 years. It's a typical Jefferson B&B, done up with lots of lace, silk flowers, & velvet. It's definitely a "chicks dig it" kind of thing. But from a guy's perspective, it's quiet, private, well located, and the food and service are fantastic. After one of Lawanda's hearty breakfasts, you may not want to eat lunch!
